How do you earn gold and premium currency without paying in Dragonfire?

A good share of the currencies is earned for free by playing regularly. The main sources:

• The daily login (it hands out Valyrian Tablets, among other things)
• Live events (Stronghold upgrades, Hatchery chests, Seats of Power, Habit Growth, spend gold/resources…)
• The Heirs of the Dragon campaign (11 stages plus an epilogue)
• Leaderboards: personal, faction and alliance (a good alliance pays well)
• Seats of Power (points climb fast: capitals +1,250, King's Landing +20,000)

The free-player reflex: never leave event rewards and the daily login unclaimed — that's what feeds your gold, your relics and your Heirloom currencies week after week. An active alliance is often your best non-paying source of income.
