⚔️ Why you lose
What is attrition and why send several waves in Dragonfire?
Attrition is the accumulated wear on a defender across several attacks. It's the number one factor for taking a point, and it rests on one simple rule: the defender doesn't heal, not between rounds, not between waves.
Concretely: one army can't empty a full defender — around 2,500–3,300 troops remain after 10 rounds, so a stalemate. But since those losses stay, the next wave starts from that lower level and keeps digging. After a few waves, the defender falls.
It's powerful enough that it's how a player beats an opponent with better research than theirs: by wear, not by raw power.
⚠️ One important nuance: attrition isn't an absolute guarantee. Without prior softening, a fight's outcome also depends on the power gap, the auras and Initiative. Attrition is your best tool, but it works alongside the rest.
