How do I choose research based on my roster's breeds?

Look at the dominant breed among your 3 formation dragons and line your Dragon Care research up with it:

• Warriors (Physical/Strength) → Might of Valyria + Warrior's Damage.
• Hunters (Fire/Intelligence) → Wisdom of Valyria + Hunter's Damage.
• Sentinels (Tactical/Instinct) → Conqueror's Instinct + Sentinel's Damage.
• Champions → Champion's Damage (they carry the strongest auras, −27.5% / −8% damage taken).

Universal picks whatever your roster: First Flame (Initiative, turn order) and Dragon's Army (capacity).
