Free-to-play: where to put your resources

Focus rather than spread

One army that sweeps is worth more than five lukewarm ones. Put your resources into one main army, then the next, instead of levelling everything a little.

One troop type, and the right one

Your troop upgrades are your biggest damage lever. Spreading them over four types dilutes everything. Pick the type that is green for your main dragons, and level it first.

Stars and Habits on the right dragons

• Relics go to the dragons that play, up to the next even rank (it unlocks a Habit).
• Breedmarks and Cores go to those same dragons' Habits, starting with the ones that strengthen the Command and the fifth.
• Don't level anything on a dragon that stays on the bench.

The season's free resources

• Meat raises a dragon's level instantly. It resets at the end of the reign: use it before then.
• Towns you hold pay meat every hour, on top of their resource.
• Skirmishes give dragon XP on your own tiles.
• Daily Quests pay milestone chests.
• Sanctums you hold pay Dragonlord Scrolls.

Know who to level before you spend

Before composing, tick “As if all my dragons were level 50”. The composer shows the army each dragon will make once levelled: you know who deserves your meat and Relics before spending them.
